OBS connection settings

Setup

Plugin pages are hidden from the sidebar until you turn them on; see showing a plugin's pages.

OBS Integration needs OBS Studio 28 or later, which has the WebSocket server built in.

  1. In OBS, open Tools → WebSocket Server Settings, check Enable WebSocket server, and note the port (4455 by default). Set a password if you want one, then click Apply.
  2. In MultiShock, open OBS Integration in the sidebar.
  3. Under Connection Settings, enter the Host (localhost when OBS runs on the same computer), the Port, and the Password if you set one.
  4. Click Connect. Turn on Auto-connect on startup to connect whenever MultiShock starts.

The connection does not reconnect by itself. If you close OBS, click Connect on the OBS Integration page again after reopening it. The page also shows an event log and a button for each of your scenes.

Save and verify the connection

Use Save settings after editing the connection fields. Auto-connect on startup controls the initial connection when MultiShock starts; it does not replace reconnecting after OBS closes.

Once connected, use Refresh to update the scene list. Selecting a scene button changes the active scene in OBS, so use a scene you intend to switch to. Check the event log for the corresponding scene change. Clear clears the displayed log, not your OBS configuration.

Troubleshooting

  • If the connection fails, compare the host, port, and password with OBS's WebSocket settings and confirm that its server is enabled.
  • If you changed the port or password, save the new settings and reconnect.
  • If a scene or source is missing, refresh the scene list and use names exactly as shown in OBS, including capitalization and spaces.
  • If OBS restarted, connect again before running a flow that sends OBS actions.

Continue with OBS flow configuration or the node reference.
