Cheer configuration

Use Bits/Cheers to send a device action when someone cheers in your channel. Complete Twitch connection setup first, then show Bits/Cheers in the sidebar through Manage plugins.

Configure a section

  1. Open Bits/Cheers and leave the page's master switch Disabled while configuring it.
  2. Expand the Default section, or choose Add Section. Set its Name and, optionally, Keyword (opt). Leave the keyword empty for a default section that handles cheers without a matching keyword section.
  3. Choose a Type: Shock, Vibrate, or Beep. Select the Shockers the section may use. For Shock, you can also enable Warning Vibrate.
  4. Choose Matching: Round Down or Exact.
  5. Under Bit Brackets, choose Add Bracket. Set Bits, Intensity, Duration, and Mode for each bracket. Mode controls which selected shockers receive the action; see shared device settings.
  6. Check the section's switch, then turn the page's master switch to Enabled when the configuration is ready. Changes save as you edit.

The section's type and shocker selection apply to all its brackets. Intensity, duration, and shocker selection mode are set separately for each bracket.

How cheers match

Keyword matching ignores capitalization and looks for the keyword anywhere in the cheer message. Enabled keyword sections are checked in their displayed order. The first section whose keyword matches and has a matching bit bracket is used. Use the section's up and down arrows to change that priority.

If no keyword section qualifies, the first enabled section with an empty keyword is used. If that default section has no matching bracket, nothing runs. One cheer selects one section and one bracket.

MatchingWhich bracket runs
Round DownThe highest bit threshold that does not exceed the cheer amount.
ExactOnly a bracket whose Bits value equals the cheer amount.

For example, with brackets at 100, 500, and 1,000 bits, a 750-bit cheer uses the 500-bit bracket in Round Down mode. In Exact mode, it matches none of those brackets. A cheer below 100 bits matches none in either mode. The bracket's configured action runs once; leftover bits do not create extra actions.

Brackets are matched by their bit values, regardless of their displayed order.

Use cheers in a flow

Twitch Cheer reacts to raw cheer events and does not depend on the Bits/Cheers master switch or sections.

Cheer Bracket Activated reacts only after an enabled section and bracket match. Its outputs include the section name, matched threshold, intensity, and duration.

Direct actions and flows can both react to the same cheer. To use the bracket settings only as flow input, keep the page and section enabled but clear that section's Shockers selection. Disabling the page or section also prevents its bracket trigger from firing.

If a cheer does not trigger an action

  • Check that Twitch is connected and both the page and section switches are enabled.
  • Check the keyword, section order, and matching mode. An Exact bracket does not accept a larger amount, and a Round Down bracket does not accept a smaller amount.
  • Confirm that the section has shockers selected and that they are loaded in device management.
  • If using a flow, confirm that the flow is running. A raw cheer trigger and a bracket trigger have different requirements, as described above.
